Required Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning PGCert Courses

Learn the essential skills to design, justify, and validate research in real-world AI and machine learning contexts. Develop the skills needed to think like a researcher – identifying meaningful problems, selecting the right methods, and backing up your findings with evidence.
Gain core programming and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in AI and machine learning. This is where you’ll design efficient algorithms, equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to write clean and reliable code.
Learn how to work confidently and creatively with data – the foundation of every AI and machine learning project. You’ll learn how to gather data from different sources, clean and transform it, analyse it for insights and communicate your findings through code and visual outputs.
This is an introduction to the core ideas and techniques behind modern artificial intelligence. Develop a deep understanding of how AI systems reason and act – as well as how to apply these methods to solve everyday problems.

Please note that occasionally we may make changes to our programme curriculum. You may not always study modules in the order they are listed here.

Why choose a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert)?

A Postgraduate Certificate is ideal if you want to gain specialist knowledge without committing to a full master’s degree. It allows you to build advanced, industry-relevant skills in a shorter time frame – helping you move forward while balancing work, finances and personal commitments:

  • Focus on what matters most – study targeted modules that develop the skills you need.
  • Complete in less time – achieve a recognised postgraduate qualification in a shorter study period.
  • Lower overall cost – study fewer credits than a full master’s, reducing your financial investment.
  • Apply your learning immediately – gain practical, career-focused skills you can use straight away.
  • Progress when you’re ready – use your PGCert as a stepping stone to a Postgraduate Diploma or full master’s in the future.
  • Earn a recognised Level 7 qualification – strengthen your CV and professional profile with a respected postgraduate award.

Programme outcomes

Upon completion, you’ll be able to deepen your expertise in application-focused modules and develop the technical depth, practical experience, and ethical awareness needed to design and deploy intelligent technologies in professional environments.
